Sharad is an industry veteran with 20 years of experience in developing internet backbone infrastructure and providing IT services. He is one of just a few Indians to have worked as an engineer on the first major backbone of the Internet: NSFNet in the US.

During a six-year stint in the US, Sharad worked for the Unified Network Management Architecture Group at AT&T Bell Labs, the Backbone Engineering Group of NSFNET (ANS) and the Router Systems Development Group of Advantis (IBM Global Network). He has also helped Merrill Lynch and Bankers Trust in designing and deploying wide area networks. In India, Sharad has provided technical consulting services for Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and large enterprises.

He started Netmagic Solutions in July 1998 which as now become India’s leading Managed IT Hosting Services Provider, specializing in Internet Datacenter & Managed Hosting, Infrastructure Management, Managed Security, Cloud Computing, Application Hosting, Messaging & Collaboration and Disaster Recovery & Availability. In January this year, NTT Communications – a wholly owned subsidiary of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, one of the world's largest telecom companies, acquired majority stake in Netmagic. Sharad continues to be the MD and CEO.

Sharad is also a sought after speaker at industry forums in India.

Sharad has a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Bombay and a Masters Degree from Columbia University in New York.
